Dr. Pascarella is a retired Police Captain from the New York Police Department, and a former Post Doctoral Fellow and Research Associate at the Violence Institute of New Jersey. Dr. Pascarella has recently published research in the Journal of Interpersonal Violence on Violence and Mental Illness, research on the impact of Operation Ceasefire in Newark in the Journal of Justice Research and Policy and the impact of Concentration Effects and Community Violence on Recidivism in the Journal of Community Corrections. Dr. Pascarella has also presented research on Gender Differences and Trauma, Firearms violence and Trauma Center Proximity, the impact of violence on voting patterns and changing patterns of violence in the US.
