College of Health Sciences
My name is John Vizzuso and I am an adjunct faculty member at Walden University. I have spent the last 29 years working in leadership roles in health care. I entered the business world in 1989 as a radiology technologist. My career has spanned between executive roles with health care systems and physician groups. I received my master degree in health care management from California Coast University and my doctorate degree in business administration from Walden University.
At a very young age I enjoyed being able to help people. This passion has served me well with working in the field of health care. I take personnel fulfillment in overseeing operations that make a difference for people who are having health issues. In addition, I take a deep interest in helping health care workers with meeting their expectations as a leader. My career has been filled with working with wonderful people who have made significant differences for people in need.
I love to write and have penned several books over the years. My latest book is entitled: EngageME: Will leaders Listen? This book focuses on leadership strategies that effect employee engagement in health care. I find that writing helps me reduce stress and provides an outlet for discussions on how leaders in health care can be compassionate and engaged within the work environment.
I am very excited that you will be joining me in this course. I am here to walk with you on your educational journey. If there are times you feel stressed or need help, please do not hesitate to reach out. I look forward to working with you on meeting your educational goals.
