Dr. Jim Melancon spent over 10 years in the corporate world before moving to higher education in 2008. He joined the Walden team in 2010 as an adjunct instructor, teaching undergraduate courses in the School of Health Sciences (Health Studies, Public Health and Healthcare Management). In addition, he also serves as a lead faculty for the department. He is a Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) and an active member in professional organizations at the state and national level.
Dr. Melancon's current research interests include chronic disease (alcohol, tobacco, obesity), implementing innovative teaching methods/technology in
online classrooms and health advocacy. He has a number of publications in professional journals along with presenting at conferences.
