Jennifer E. Melvin received her PhD in sociology from the University of Texas at Austin. She has co-authored two books and is the co- author of several journal articles and book chapters that look broadly at intersections of disadvantage for the physical health of Latino Americans (2014/2016). Her newest project takes an unconventional approach to the study of women's health. Dr. Melvin has been teaching for nearly 20 years and is an active reviewer for peer reviewed publications in health and a member of the American Sociological Association and the Population Association for the Americas.
