Dr. Jeani Thomas’ formal training as a Family Nurse Practitioner was completed in 1994 with an MSN from Marshall University. Her doctoral preparation was at Case Western Reserve University. Dr. Thomas has over 40 years experience in health care. Dr. Thomas has held multiple nursing leadership positions, including Director of Nursing for an acute care hospital, and serving as Director and Service Line Leader in the areas of Emergency Medicine, Women's Health and Oncology. As a Nurse Practitioner, Dr. Thomas has provided care and served in leadership positions for multiple organizations.
At Walden University, Dr. Thomas is Senior Core Faculty for the Nurse Practitioner program. As a faculty member, Dr. Thomas has held positions in the LPN to RN program at St. Mary’s School of Nursing; in the MSN, Family Nurse Practitioner program at Marshall University and in the Nursing and Health Care Administration program at University of Phoenix.
Dr. Thomas serves on the School of Nursing CAP committee, the Nurse Practitioner Acute Care Committee, and the College of Nursing Nurse Practitioner Curriculum Committee and previously led the Student Affairs Committee.
