Jane E. Lyons received her PhD in General Psychology from Walden University in May 2007. She is part-time faculty member Walden University in the School of Psychology. Dr. Lyons served as the fulltime director of Federal TRIO programs at Hocking College from 2002 to 2016. The TRIO programs included a Student Support Services program for college students and Educational Talent Search, a college outreach program for middle school and high school students. She began as a counselor and advisor for the TRIO programs at Hocking College in 1997. She also served as a thesis mentor or reader for Master’s students at Excelsior College. As a Thesis mentor, Dr. Lyons supervised the writing of the Master’s thesis at Excelsior College. As a thesis reader, she provided commentary during the final stages of the thesis process. Professionally, Dr. Lyons has worked as a consultant for Brennan and Couchon Assoc., administering and scoring a battery of psychological assessments to police and fire department candidates for hire. She participated in candidate interviews and provided input into assessment interpretations and hiring decisions. Dr. Lyons has worked in adult education in some capacity for more than 30 years ranging from instructor for GED students to dissertation mentor for a Walden graduate student.
