College of Management and Technology
I have a Doctorate degree in Organization and Management with a specialization in Leadership from Capella University, a Master in Science Administration in General Administration from Central Michigan University, a Master in Marriage and Family Therapy from Northcentral University, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology/Health Profession from University of South Florida – GO BULLS!
Many people ask me why I started with a Biology degree and ended up with a management degree. Well here is the quick version of the story. I was pre-med and wanted to attend medical school. Later in my college years I was burnt out by my senior year and decided to take a break and received a commission as an officer in the Air Force. After training and arriving to my new station (Minot AFB, ND) I decided to obtain a business degree to obtain a better understanding of business as I will one day open my own practice after medical school. I fell in love with business, management, and leadership. I focused my studies towards finance and realized there are many opportunities and challenges in owning/running a business. Since there is nothing to do at Minot, I completed my doctorate and wanted to teach ever since.
I have been in the military almost 12 years and recently separated with a rank of Major. I am currently stationed at Tyndall Air Force Base, FL as a search and rescue coordinator. I left beautiful Colorado Springs, CO after three years working on numerous satellite operations. I spent five years at Minot AFB, North Dakota completing a missile tour where I obtain my master’s and Ph.D. I decided to obtain my Ph.D. with a specialization in Leadership to help me get a better understanding of leadership within the military (Air Force).
I am the owner of a consulting and manufacturing company. I also started up a non-profit program for young adults in Minot, ND. I enjoy working on cars and traveling as you could see. I am big in trying new things at least once. I am starting to get into snowboarding. The snow and I have become good friends since my new venture. I have a large background in music as a percussionist. I have competed in Drum Corps International (DCI), performed with professional symphonies, a studio drummer, and instructed for Yamaha’s Summer of Sound (SOS). As you could see I love my music.
I am from Puerto Rico and lived most of my life in Miami, FL. I am a single father with two kids: my son Jamiel (12) and my daughter Victoria (16). I look forward to interacting with you all in this course. Please feel free to e-mail me or call if you have any questions or if you just want to chat about anything on my autobiography.
