Dr. Ionas has more than 20 years of experience in teaching in education, business, and engineering as well as designing and developing web-based software solutions for education and industry in the United States and abroad. Among others, Dr. Ionas worked on projects for the U.S. Department of Labor, the U.S. Department of Energy, and the University of Missouri. He has a Ph.D. in Instructional Design and Learning Technologies from the University of Missouri (US), a Ph.D. in Management from the University of Sibiu (Romania), a Masters of Business Administration degree from the University of Missouri (US), and a Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Technical University of Cluj (Romania). He is passionate about exploring what happens when mind meets technology. His is currently interested in causality and causal reasoning, the impact of technology use in educational practice, and instructional design for online education.
Outside academia, Dr. Ionas currently works with Treepple to develop the their web presence and infrastructure for the delivery of tailored educational and information content. He also works as technology consultant for research teams to help develop workflows and web and mobile application resources for data collection, participant interaction, analysis, and reporting.
