Dr. Hunter Nicholas serves as contributing faculty for the RN to BSN program at Walden University. She received her Doctorate of Nursing Practice from Touro University. She earned her Trauma Certified Registered Nurse (TCRN) credential in 2018. In addition to higher education, she travels to different trauma centers as a resource for operations and quality improvement. Dr. Nicholas has assisted three trauma programs in successful ACS Trauma Verification.
Dr. Nicholas’s DNP project was title “Compassion Fatigue: An Education Intervention Program for Trauma Nurses.” Her project took place at a level 1 trauma center she was previously employed at as a Trauma Coordinator. Her primary interests include injury prevention, education, quality improvement, and trauma leadership.
Dr. Nicholas is a member of the Emergency Nurses Association (ENA) and the Society of Trauma Nurses (STN). She is committed to advancing learning opportunities for pre-licensure students and those in current practice.
