She has been a nurse for 19 years and began her nursing career as an associate degree nurse. She has a strong background in clinical practice, critical care nursing, nursing education, research, informatics, leadership/management, and electronic/multimedia/research publications. She received a Baccalaureate in Nursing, Master of Science in Nursing, a postmaster’s certification in Healthcare Education, and a PhD with distinction, with a specialization in Nursing Education.
With her strong history in nursing education for 16 years, she has taught at all levels of nursing programs from associate degree to DNP/PhD. She has served as a Nurse Educator Consultant, worked with internal editorial teams, managed nursing content, subject matter experts, and helped with the integration products at colleges and universities throughout the US. She was a pioneer in nursing simulation circuit at national and international levels. She was instrumental in teaching patient care with students and faculty in simulation. She has presented at multiple national and international conferences. She is a member of the National League for Nursing, South Carolina League for Nursing, Sigma Theta Tau International, Phi Kappa Phi, and Kappa Delta.
She currently lives in Charleston, South Carolina. She enjoys the beach, competitive cheerleading, ballet, and outdoor activities.
