Dr. Greg Washington joined Walden University in November 2014 as VP Operations for the College of Management and Technology where he was responsible for all aspects of academic and operational oversight the 10,000-student college. He has severed in senior academic and operational roles in higher education since 2003.
Greg transitioned to higher education from the United States Army where he holds the rank of Lieutenant Colonel and is currently assigned to the Retired Reserve. His military service included three combat tours of duty as well as assignments in all three components of the Army – Active duty, US Army Reserves, and the National Guard. In his 23 year career his functional assignments included Logistics Management, Operations Managements, Strategic Planning, and Special Operations. Dr. Washington holds a Masters of Business Administration in Global Management as well as a Doctor of Management degree in Organizational Leadership from the University of Phoenix.
His career in higher education management includes a variety of academic and operations leadership roles including Provost, Campus President, Vice President of Academics, Program Dean, and Associate Vice President for Academic Operations. Through those roles Dr. Washington has gained a level of expertise in curriculum development, assessment of learning, distance education, accreditation management, and serving non-traditional students. As a faculty member, Dr. Washington taught graduate and undergraduate Business and Management courses for adult learners and now teaches doctoral students in both Business and Management programs.
Greg currently owns and operates an education-based early childhood education franchise in the Atlanta metropolitan area.
