Dr. Gergana Velkova holds a Doctor of Philosophy Degree in Industrial-Organizational Psychology from Capella University, in Minneapolis, MN, a Master’s of Arts Degree in Business Administration from Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, Ohio, and a Master’s of Arts Degree in Bulgarian Philology (specializing in Language Art and Literature) from South-West University in Bulgaria.
Dr. Velkova is the Founder of Dissertation Editing & Consulting, and she also works as a consultant and editor. Dr. Velkova began her teaching with Walden University in 2012. She taught various courses including doctoral mentoring, doctoral completion, contemporary challenges in business, leadership, organizational leadership, business strategy and innovation, and quantitative business data analysis using SPSS.
Dr. Velkova’s papers, publications, and conference presentations include: Effective strategies to reduce employee turnover in retail, strategies to improve job satisfaction and reduce voluntary employee turnover of nurses, and transformational leadership behavior and its impact on subordinates’ well-being.
A list of research and consultancy projects undertaken by Dr. Velkova include: job embeddedness and employee retention in healthcare; skills that small business owners use to succeed beyond 5 years; effects of transactional leadership style on followers’ psychological well-being, job satisfaction, extra effort, and effectiveness; laissez-faire leadership: the impact of nonleadership behavior on followers’ health; data saturation: quality in qualitative research; and impact of transformational leadership style on employee job satisfaction in manufacturing environment.
