Gaynel S. Olsen received her PhD in Adult Education at the Virginia Commonwealth University in May 2007. She currently serves as Contributing Faculty - Doctoral Committee, with the DHA program in the College of Health Sciences at Walden University. Her role will be to work with doctoral students as they progress through writing their dissertation. Dr. Olsen has also taught respiratory therapy technology, statistics, bio-medical ethics and epidemiology at other colleges and universities.
Professionally, Dr. Olsen is a registered respiratory therapist and has designed and developed both on-ground and on-line several respiratory therapy programs at other colleges and universities. She served as Director of the Inner City/Rural Preceptorship Program at the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine, working with third-year medical students in Family Medicine.
Dr. Olsen has a number of publications and presentations on her work in the metrics and equity of third year medical students' remote clerkships in Family Medicine research projects and of distance education comparison metrics to traditional teaching methods.
