Francetta D. Childers received her DNP at Maryville University December of 2015. She currently works as a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner at Maxwell Air Force Base serving in this role since 2010 and adjunct clinical instructor for ADN students at Judson College in Marion Alabama since 2015. Dr. Childers joined the Walden faculty as an adjunct clinical instructor September 2017. She is and has been a clinical instructor for an ADN and LPN programs since 1999. Professionally Dr. Childers has a wealth of experience and nursing knowledge in Women’s Health, Public Health, Corrections, Research as a Sub-Investigator for Drug Trials, STI’s, Mental Health, Hypertension, Tuberculosis clinics and Home Assessments.
In her academic role she has facilitated learning in Obstetrics, Pediatrics, Fundamentals, Role Transition and Psychiatric courses in an ADN program. Dr. Childers has specialized education as a Colposcopist where she manages and treat abnormal pap smears, performs IUS Insertion and Removal, Nexplanon insertion and Removal, Endometrial and Vulvar Biopsies, Polypectomies, Incision and Drainage of Bartholin abscesses and Cryotherapy. She is the author of a Group Prenatal Education Program for Pregnant Incarcerated Women to improve their Prenatal Literacy.
