Douglas Mccoy

Dr. McCoy is an experienced college professor with over 20 years of experience teaching and over 16 years experience mentoring doctoral dissertations and research. Dr. McCoy has extensive experience teaching at a number of institutions of higher education including, Illinois State University, Moraine Valley Community College, College of DuPage, Capella University, DeVry University and Walden University. I am quite passionate about teaching and I am also quite passionate about human services and social justice.

My general teaching philosophy is based on experiential learning and the empowerment of the learner. I believe in providing students with the tools and resources that they need to be successful in the classroom. I strive to be accessible to my students to assist them at all stages in their learning process. I have found that they key to the online learning experience is maintaining a strong connection with my students. I have also worked hard to anticipate the needs of my students and in anticipating the needs of my students I can work hard to provide them with the tools they need to be successful in their studies.
