I received my MA in Community Counseling (2004) and PhD in Counseling & Supervision from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. I have been a Counselor Educator for 13 years and a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) for 15 years. My clinical background focused on clients who have experienced trauma and community violence. My research interests include trauma, grief and loss, advocacy practices, climate crisis, nature connection and mental health, environmental justice, and counselor mental health and burnout prevention. I love being outside, breathing fresh air, running, hiking, cycling and just being in the sun with my husband and dog.
