David M Brown holds a doctorate of education with a specialization in health education from Teachers College Columbia University. He also holds a Masters of Library and Information Science from Wayne State University. Additionaly, he has two Masters of Arts Degrees from Columbia University one in computers and education and another in health education. He is a Master Certified Health Education Specialist (MCHES) #10986. He currently serves as a contributing faculty in the Health Education Ph.D. program at Walden University. He currently works with Ph.D. students on their dissertation projects. He has taught a number of health education and public health classes at the undergraduate and graduate levels at other colleges and universities. He has served on the board of directors for the Society for Public Health Education and The National Commission for Health Education Credentialing Inc. He also serves on several editorial boards within the health education and public health arenas. Dr Brown’s primary research areas are: professional development and professional preparation in the field of health education, community engagement and participatory research and advocacy and policy issues related to health education, he has prepared a number of professional presentations, publications and submitted grants within these areas of expertise.
