Dr. Gonzales received her PhD in Public Policy with an emphasis in Health Policy at the University of Arkansas in August 2004. She received her MHSA in Health Services Administration in May 1998. She serves as an instructor and mentor at Walden University. Dr. Gonzales previously held adjunct faculty appointment as assistant professor in the maternal child health and health policy and management sections of the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS), College of Public Health and Public Policy Department of the University of Arkansas. She is an experienced IRB reviewer and IRB chair with over 12 years of research and evaluation experience. She is also a Certified IRB Professional. She is a member of the American Evaluation Association and developed curriculum for two graduate programs in program planning and evaluation. Dr. Gonzales served on multiple projects as evaluator and has co-written funded grants with annual budgets in excess of $2 million. She is a subject matter expert in the areas of maternal child health, overweight children, family centered care, health policy, medical home, social and emotional health, allied health education and secondary data analysis. Dr. Gonzales served as co-chair evaluation core of the clinical translational Service Award (P20 and U54) grant submissions for UAMS. She was appointed by the Governor of Arkansas to the Legislative Task Force for Traumatic Brain Injury.
