Crystal D. Slaughter received her Doctor of Nursing Practice at Saint Francis Medical Center College of Nursing in May of 2012. Dr. Slaughter joined Walden University in 2013 and served as Contributing Part-Time Faculty Member in the RN-BSN program. Then in 2018 she became full time Core Faculty in the RN-BSN program. She is the lead faculty for NURS 3020 and NURS 4100. She has taught adult medical surgical courses at colleges. Dr. Slaughter also has experience in teaching online courses in BSN and MSN programs. Professionally, Dr. Slaughter has worked as an advanced practice registered nurse with an Intensivist/Pulmonary Service to provide care to hospitalized ICU patients and also with inpatient Palliative Care. Her clinical interests lie in nursing education and evidence based practice initiatives to promote improving patient care.
