Christopher Khoury
Dr. Khoury has served The Richard W. Riley College of Education and Human Services at Walden University since 2013. He is currently Senior Contributing Faculty and a professor in the Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT), Special Education Certification Program. He started at Walden University as a University Supervisor for teacher candidates completing the Demonstrated Teaching portion of the program. In addition to teaching graduate courses at Walden U., Dr. Khoury has served on several committees such as the Teacher Licensure Assessment Committee, the Associate Dean Advisory Council, and currently the Integrated Teaching and Learning Advisory Council for the University as well as the Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Committee for the College. Before joining Walden University, Dr. Khoury taught Undergraduate Special Education courses at The University of North Texas since 2005.
Dr. Khoury earned his Ph.D. in Special Education: Mild to Moderate Disabilities with an emphasis in Assessment and Research from The University of North Texas (2014), where he also earned his M.Ed. in Special Education (2005). Prior to attending UNT, he attended North Carolina State University where he earned his B.S. in Sport Management.
Dr. Khoury resides and works in Prosper, TX, just north of Dallas. He currently works in the Student Services Administration Department in Prosper ISD as an Educational Diagnostician. Prior to moving to administration, he taught as a High School Special Education Resource Teacher, a Co-Teacher, and as an Assessment Specialist. Dr. Khoury has worked in K-12 public school education since 2004.
In 2021, Dr. Khoury was named the Prosper ISD Special Education Educator of the Year. He was also awarded with the 2022 Walden University Faculty Excellence Award for The College of Education and Human Services because of his commitment and dedication to Walden University and its students.
Dr. Khoury has two daughters, Catherine Abbigail-Najla (17) and Audrey Emilynn-Grace (11).
