Christopher S. Besser received his PhD in Health Services Research, Management, and Policy at the University of Florida in December 2014. He currently serves as Deputy Commanding Officer (Health System VP) for the Fort George G. Meade Medical Activity (US Army Medical Command) in Maryland, and the Deputy Healthcare Administration (70A) Consultant to the Army Surgeon General, United States Army Medical Command. Dr. Besser began as a part-time faculty member at Walden in the College of Health Sciences in 2016. He teaches or has taught several classes across the Health Administration and Business Administration fields at various levels and universities. Such classes include Health Policy, Health Policy and Politics, Economic Aspects of Health Care Administration, Micro Economic Theory, Managerial Economics, Investments, Issues in International Health, Quantitative Methods II, Select topics in Advanced Research Methods, and Economics of Health Policy. Professionally, Dr. Besser is a Fellow in the American College of Health Care Executives, and serves a senior Health Care Executive within the Medical Service Corps of the United States Army Medical Department. He has publications and presentations on various aspects of access and utilization.
