Dr. Cheryl McGinnis graduated with her DNP from the University of Florida in 2010. Dr. McGinnis is an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner, board certified through ANCC. She has over 40 years of nursing experience. Dr. McGinnis has a master of science in nursing(MSN)from the University of Florida and a master of arts in social and behavioral sciences (MA) from the University of South Florida. She has 18 years of experience in transplant medicine, specifically both pediatric and adult liver transplantation. Dr. McGinnis is a Certified Clinical Transplant Coordinator(CCTC). Professional experience includes nursing administration and project management, teaching at the graduate and doctoral level, working as a clinical nurse specialist and a nurse practitioner. Dr. McGinnis has published in the Lippincott Manual of Nursing Practice, AJN, Nursing Management and Critical Care Nursing Clinics of North America. She has presented at the local and national level in her area of expertise, liver transplantation. Dr. McGinnis started with Walden University in 2012 as a contributing faculty member in the MSN program and became the Academic Program Coordinator for the DNP program in 2015.
