Dr. Charles McElroy received his master's in geography from Texas A&M University in 1986 and his EdD in education from the University of Memphis in 1993. His dissertation focused on K-12 leadership styles and a correlation between NASSP Principal Assessment Center participant results with MBTI trait indicators. He joined Walden University in 2005. He has taught courses for Walden’s PhD program in education and was course lead for its foundations course. He has served as chairperson and member on dissertation committees for the PhD program in education. He has also served as chair and member on research and project study committees for the EdD program in education. He also served on the COE Curriculum and Academic Policy Committee. He has served as Academic Director for Universidad Interamericana Panama, also a Laureate International University. He has taught writing courses for students of Universidad Latinamericana de Ciencias y Tecnologia as part of a dual degree program with Walden University. He is very familiar with the International Baccalaureate Program, having served as IB Coordinator and as an IB Examiner. Apart from academia, he enjoys writing, ocean swimming, beekeeping, and playing with the Spanish language. His research interests are centered in education in a postmodern era.
