Dr. Barnett has been an elementary school teacher in both regular and special education for a number of years. She has also served as the Assistant Director of Special Education and taught in the Early Childhood/Special Education program at the college level for 11 years. Her areas of special interest have been inclusion, effective instruction, collaboration, positive behavior supports and appropriate adaptations for students with disabilities. She has the following degrees: Bachelor of Arts in Education from the University of Florida; a Master of Education from the University of Louisville; and a Doctor of Philosophy degree from the University of Illinois. She currently lives in Colorado.
