Dr. Bunney Schmidt's formal training is in the accounting area where she has worked in many different areas over the last 30+ years. During her graduate program, she began teaching and has been teaching for over 20 years both online and in the classroom. At Walden University, she teaches a variety of accounting graduate classes all of which she enjoys very much.
Dr. Schmidt's current research interests focus primarily on tax and accounting fraud. She owns her own tax practice so keeps up on this area regularly. Dr. Schmidt also is a Certified Public Accountant and Certified Management Accountant and a member of several different accounting organizations. She enjoys working with small businesses especially and donating time to help non-profit organizations but her most satisfying accomplishments are watching students succeed in her class and acquire the knowledge needed to be successful in the accounting profession.
