Dr. Stryk was hired by Walden University in 2015 as a Contributing Member. He received a PhD in General Information Technology with Distinction from Capella University. His dissertation title was: How do Organizations Prepare and Clean Big Data to Achieve Better Data Governance: A Delphi Study.
Dr. Stryk has a MBA in Finance & Investments with Computers from Baruch College, CUNY, a BSEE in Circuits and Computers from the University of New Mexico (UNM) and a BA in Physics & Math from Hunter College, CUNY. He is also an ISP - Industrial Security Professional issued by NCMS - National Classification Management Society. The certification is for US government security practices for industry.
Dr. Stryk has taught Master’s and Doctoral level ITEC courses. Currently he is mentoring doctoral mentees in the Walden Doctor of Information Technology (DIT) program. He also has about 40 years' experience working with IT in industry and teaching IT (at the postsecondary level). He has typically worked for large (around billion $) companies and organizations and has helped to build and manage data centers, networks, software environments, virtual corporations, web sites, etc.
Dr. Stryk has also done IT consulting for a number of years. Currently he also works at his own consulting company doing professional research in non-Hadoop Big Data (NHBD), Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML) and Deep Learning (DL).
His main professional research objective is to operationalize the state of the art and beyond theory to contribute to positive social change in society as a whole. This positive social change would also help the IT industry and various organizations worldwide.
