Dr. Anthony Lolas has over 30 years of experience in the Strategic Management Process involving top management activities. He has been involved with operations management in 70 countries and interacted with high level managers in 13 countries regarding presidential special operations. He has served on the Board of Directors with a major Chinese Company. During his career with the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control (SCDHEC), he served as the Chief of the Bureau of Business Management, responsible for the business management functions for 140 locations throughout the state serving an organization of 5500. Primary responsibilities involved oversight of over $130M in annual procurement activity; contract and grant administration; facility planning, architect/engineering services, building construction, leasing, and maintenance of all facilities; inventory control and asset accounting for over $400M; art, graphics, photography and printing services for an annual production of 65 million documents; motor vehicle management and maintenance for a fleet of 700 vehicles; mail distribution of over 13 million pieces of mail; central supply distribution center, archiving, and surplus property services; courier and transportation services; bureau management information services; insurance programs; public safety; risk management and strategic management. He acted as the business operations liaison between DHEC health services and environmental control divisions, the SC State Governor's Office, the SC Budget and Control Board, General Services, other state agencies, the state and local Chambers of Commerce, and the local media. He was selected by the Governor of South Carolina to lead the South Carolina’s Managerial Accountability Program (MAP) Commission for Governmental Purchasing Activity for all state agencies. Based on his efforts within SC State Government, he received the South Carolina Taxpayer WatchDog of the Year Award.
