College of Social and Behavioral Sciences
I am a community psychologist by training (NYU, 1993), with NIMH postdoctoral training in mental health services research (UC Berkeley, 1994-1996). I have 25+ years of experience conducting health research in a variety of settings that include community-based organizations, academic research in a medical school (UCSF) and School of Public Health (UC Berkeley), and conducting research on the safety and effectiveness of cancer treatments and patient outcomes in a major pharmaceutical company. Most recently, I have conducted research in oncology (metastatic breast cancer, advanced basal cell carcinoma, Non-small-cell lung cancer) on patient reported outcomes of treatment and clinical outcomes of care in real world settings using observational research methods and patient registries. My research interests include organizations and community-based intervention, health outcomes of treatments for chronic and life-threatening illness, work and family conflict, organizational culture, and social support and health. I live in California with my husband and 2 dogs, and have a daughter in college.
