College of Health Sciences
I am an Egyptian University Professor, born in my beautiful country and proud of its long history. I live in Cairo, Egypt, and I am a mother of a daughter and two cats.
I graduated as a physician. However, I concentrated my career on the teaching in the university to medical and other health professionals’ students. I lived and studied in USA where I got my Master degree in Health Profession Education then my Ph.D. in Public health. I joined Walden at 2002 as a part-time faculty of Public Health then as full time.
My main area of interest and expertise is in women’s health and disparity in an international context. I have a lot of work in fighting the harmful practice of Female Genital Cutting/Mutilation that is done in many areas of the world as a severe type of violence against women. I worked as a consultant to many international organizations; I traveled to many regions of the world, and I appreciate diversity in culture and its effect on people’s life and health
