Alethea Baker
Dr. Alethea Baker teaches and serves on dissertation committees in the Clinical Psychology program at Walden University. She has taught courses since the year 2005 and served on dissertation committees since the year 2007. Her professional experience as a clinical psychologist includes private practice in the state of Ohio since the year 2000. Her role at Walden is an instructor for online and BYAR (online with an in-residence component) courses, and she serves on a number of dissertation committees as either chairperson, second committee member, or URR committee member. Her primary areas of research interest include vicarious traumatization of the trauma therapist, eye movement desensitization reprocessing (EMDR), issues of grief and loss, women's issues, the integration of spirituality into psychotherapy, and animal-assisted psychotherapy. Her professional expertise is in the same areas as her research interests. In the year 2005, she became a certified practitioner of eye movement desensitization eprocessing (EMDR). Dr. Baker is a member in good standing of the American Psychological Association and the Ohio Psychological Association.
