Dr. Parks-Savage received her doctorate degree and education specialist degree in counseling from the College of William and Mary (CACREP accredited). she is licensed as a LPC and RN, and certified as an Approved Clinical Supervisor (ACS). she has have over 24 years combined clinical experience as a psychiatric nurse and professional counselor. Dr. Parks-Savage has over 20 years of college teaching experience that includes teaching undergraduate, masters’ and doctoral level counseling programs. Along with several peer-reviewed publications, she has numerous accepted/invited international, national, regional, state, and local presentations. She is an active member of ACA, ACES, SACES, and serve as a site reviewer for CACREP. At Walden University, she has been a contributing faculty to the PhD CES program since 2010. Her full-time role as the Associate Dean of Graduate Medical Education and Professor in Family & Community Medicine is at Eastern Virginia Medical School (Norfolk, Virginia).Her primary role is related to residency education programs, overseeing resident programs specific to patient and quality improvement education, research and protocol development, mentoring residents in research, and professionalism training in medicine. She continues to clinically practice with a client load consisting of adults, couples and families. She served as the President for the Virginia Association for Counselor Education and Supervision (VACES) from 2015-2016 and 2016-2017.
