The Organization for Economic Co-Operation and Development (OECD) reports that the United States ranks 31st among OCED member organizations in early education for children ages 3-4, falling behind countries like Mexico, France, Italy, Slovenia, and Portugal.1 OCED statistics reveal that only half of 3- and 4-yeard old’s in the U.S. are enrolled in a preschool program.
