Octavious Bishop, a PhD in Psychology student, has joined The University of Texas at Austin football staff as director of student leadership and personal development. Since 2009, he has worked with the NeuroSensory Center of Austin/V5 Sports Science, and from 2012–2016, he was an adjunct professor of psychology at Austin Community College.
Susan Condie, a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) student, has been named founding chief nursing officer at HomeHero, the largest independent home care provider in California. She is also associate dean of nursing academics at the West Coast University, Orange County, California campus.
Tammy Johnson, a BS in Psychology student, has earned her Certified Manager of Community Associations (CMCA) designation. Johnson is a community manager at Associa HRW in North Carolina.
Brandi Spaulding ’08, an MS in Psychology graduate and a PhD in Psychology student, developed a mobile app called Squirrel Recovery for people in addiction recovery. The app checks in with patients several times a day and then sends information on their mood, urges, and stress levels to members of their recovery support team. It also has a panic button for an instance when they feel like a relapse is imminent.
Terrence Schofield '10, an MS in Psychology graduate and a PhD in Psychology student, published Distractions: Why We Do What We Do? (Velron Publishing Company, 2013). Schofield is a diversity trainer, life skills coach, and public speaker.
JulieAnna Smith, an MS in Psychology student, was named 2013–2014 Teacher of the Year at Harry Hurst Middle School in Destrehan, La., where she is a seventh-grade reading teacher.
