Dr. Tyre acquired a PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision, from Auburn University and has been working as a counselor, counselor educator, author, and higher education professional for over 18 years. She has been a contributing faculty member for Walden University for over 10 years. She has extensive experience in student affairs and once served as Assistant Vice Chancellor Student Affairs, at Auburn Montgomery where she provided direct oversite to Counseling and Health Promotion Services, Career Development Center, Disability Services.

She currently serves at Liberty University as Associate Professor in the Department of Counselor Education and Family Studies. Dr. Tyre is a nationally board certified and state licensed counselor and supervisor with extensive experience in leadership. She is an active part of her professional community recently serving as the 2021-2022 President, for the Alabama Counseling Association and a current Executive Board member for the Alabama Area Mental Health Authority.
