Dr. Killam is a scholar and practitioner. She currently is president-elect of the Association for Adult Development and Aging (AADA), a division of the American Counseling Association. She is past president of the Texas Association for Adult Development and Aging and has served in various leadership roles for the Texas Counseling Association. Dr. Killam has received a distinguished service award from the Texas Counseling Association and the 2014 Presidential Outstanding Service Award from the AADA. She is a licensed professional counselor, a certified rehabilitation counselor, and a nationally certified counselor. Dr. Killam has written several publications and presented numerous times at the state and national levels. She is currently working on a book. Dr. Killam became a contributing faculty member at Walden in 2010.
