Substance abuse and recovery, multicultural issues, social justice, cultural identity development, oppression, generational trauma, grief, loss, trauma due to sexual violence and oppression, new counselor training and professional identity development, health disparities among marginalized populations, narrative research and traditional storytelling

Background

Dr. Morris is a qualitative researcher who focuses on personal narratives. She serves on a local community student court to address and intervene in teenage substance abuse and recovery in an attempt to bridge the gap between legal reaction and therapeutic intervention. Dr. Morris became a contributing faculty member in Walden’s School of Counseling in 2013.
