Background

Dr. Banks is a Michigan licensed professional counselor with 15 years of clinical experience in substance abuse and mental health counseling. Her clinical experience includes chronic mental illness, psychotic disorders, pain management, grief and loss, trauma, sexual abuse, and offender populations. Dr. Banks has worked as an administrator in community mental health programs in the Detroit metropolitan area for more than 10 years. She is also a national certified counselor. She has taught in a variety of traditional brick-and-mortar and online graduate CACREP counseling programs since 2007. She has been a contributing faculty member at Walden since 2010 and joined the core faculty team in 2015.
