Background

Dr. Ford has worked in diverse clinical settings that include community mental health, college and university counseling centers, and private practice, as well as a hospital outpatient mental health unit. She joined Walden University’s MS in Clinical Mental Health Counseling program in 2005 and served as the inaugural field experience coordinator. During that time, she worked closely with a team of colleagues in the development of the School of Counseling’s Field Experience Office. She then became director of the university’s central Office of Field Experience, supporting field experience curricula, staff, faculty, and academic program accreditation efforts. Dr. Ford returned to the Clinical Mental Health Counseling program in 2013 as a core faculty member. She is currently a field experience coordinator in the School of Counseling, supporting students enrolled in master’s level counseling programs.
