Dr. West is an assistant clinical professor at the University of Florida. She holds a doctorate in counselor education and supervision, concentrating in marriage and family therapy. She is also a licensed mental health clinician and licensed marriage and family therapist in the state of Florida. Dr. West has more than 15 years of clinical training and experience working with individuals and families addressing addiction issues. Other professional interests include family and couples therapy, specialized services for women and minorities, and student veterans. In addition to clinical practice and training, course instruction, and writing, Dr. West has an administrative background in community mental health care. She holds an MBA with a concentration in healthcare administration and provides consultation services to behavioral health organizations throughout Florida. Dr. West became a contributing faculty member in Walden’s MS in Marriage, Couple, and Family Counseling program in 2013.
