Multicultural training and reactance, clinical supervision, mental health stigma in communities of color

Background

Dr. Lowery previously served as co-principal investigator for Raising Awareness About Mental Health, a grant-funded initiative aimed at reducing mental health stigma on historically black college and university campuses. She also developed the Crowell-Lowery Multicultural Training Reactance Scale to assess student resistance or oppositional behavior that occurs within courses on culture and diversity within counselor education programs. Dr. Lowery has been a contributing faculty member in Walden’s School of Counseling since 2012.
