Dr. O’Neill is an Ohio-licensed professional clinical counselor with supervisory designation. She is a core faculty member in Walden’s Clinical Mental Health Counseling program. Prior to joining Walden, she taught at several campus-based and online institutions and served as a clinical director of a large behavioral-health treatment facility in Ohio. Dr. O’Neill is the current executive director of the Ohio Counseling Association. She is also active in numerous professional organizations, including serving on the Publications Committee of the American Counseling Association and as the associate editor for research for the Journal of Mental Health Counseling. She has published numerous scholarly articles and book chapters on various topics, including self-injurious behavior, suicide, and counselor supervision.
