Dr. Jefferson is the president of the District of Columbia Mental Health Counselors Association. She is a scholar-practitioner and is licensed to practice in Virginia and the District of Columbia. She is the founder of two state-licensed mental health agencies and has guided the development of six licensed facilities throughout the state of Virginia. She is an associate professor at the University of the District of Columbia and is the director of a graduate program in rehabilitation counseling accredited by the Council on Rehabilitation Education. She serves on the CACREP accrediting team, is a chairperson on the Graduate Council, and is a member of the institutional review board at the University of the District of Columbia. She joined Walden’s School of Counseling as a support faculty member in 2014.
