Integration of spirituality in counseling, professional development of counselors in training
Dr. Shuler is an assistant professor at Northeastern State University, where she served as the program chair for the master’s program in addiction counseling. She currently serves as that university’s Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs accreditation coordinator and site visit liaison. Dr. Shuler engages in research related to the personal and professional development of counselors in training and integrating spirituality in counseling. Recent professional accomplishments include the publication of her research, “The Impact of Transformational Learning Experiences on Personal and Professional Counselor-in-Training Identity Development,” in The Professional Counselor. She has 10 years of experience working with a diverse population of individuals and families with addiction issues in a variety of settings.
