Dr. Buckley is a doctoral-level licensed professional counselor in Arkansas and Mississippi and a licensed clinical mental health counselor in Utah. He has been a practicing counselor since 1993 in Arkansas, Idaho, Mississippi, and Utah and specializes in marriage and family, child and adolescent, and group counseling. He is also a national certified counselor, an approved clinical supervisor, and a distance credentialed counselor. Dr. Buckley works as a counselor educator (core faculty) at Walden University and was the program director for the MS in Clinical Mental Health Counseling program from 2008 to 2013. He spent 15 years in Mississippi and was division chair and an associate professor of counselor education at Delta State University from 1997 to 2008. He is an active member of the American Counseling Association, the Association for Specialists in Group Work, the International Association of Marriage and Family Therapists, and the Association for Counselor Education and Supervision. He also chaired the Mississippi Board of Examiners for Licensed Professional Counselors from 2001 to 2004. He serves as an exam committee member for the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination for the National Board for Certified Counselors. He is also a board-approved clinical supervisor in Arkansas and Mississippi, where he supervises other professional counselors and counselors in training who seek licensure. His diverse professional practice includes counseling, consultation, supervision, and teaching.
