LGBT issues in counseling, advocacy and social justice issues, depression and anxiety, grief, licensure issues
Dr. Leggett joined Walden University in January 2016 after serving as clinical associate professor at the University of Alabama, where he taught in the Counselor Education program and served as coordinator and clinical director of the counseling lab. He is a licensed professional counselor in Alabama and has more than 15 years of private practice experience. In 2013, the governor’s office appointed Dr. Leggett to serve as a member of the Alabama Board of Examiners in Counseling, where he recently was elected to serve as chair. He is an active member of the Alabama Counseling Association, where he has held a number of positions on the executive council and is involved in the division for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender issues in Alabama. Dr. Leggett volunteers his time for Meals on Wheels and the West Alabama Food Bank. He is a core faculty member in Walden’s MS in Clinical Mental Health Counseling program.
