Background

Dr. Cannon serves as the director of assessment for the School of Counseling at Walden University and is a core faculty member in the PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision program. Prior to this appointment, she served for 2 years as the director of field experience and an additional 2 years as a core faculty member in the MS in Clinical Mental Health Counseling program. Dr. Cannon is a licensed professional counselor in Texas and a national certified counselor. In addition to her work at Walden, she maintains a small clinical practice in Austin, Texas, where she specializes in neurofeedback therapy as well as the treatment of adolescent and women’s issues. She is actively engaged in research publication and presentations at the state and national levels, and serves as an editorial review board member for the Journal of Humanistic Counseling and the Journal of Creativity in Mental Health.
