Dr. Benoit has worked as a family, couples, and individual counselor in the Hampton Roads, Virginia, area since 2005. She is a member of the core faculty in the Marriage, Couple, and Family Counseling program and assessment coordinator for the School of Counseling at Walden University. She was previously director the New Horizons Family Counseling Center, a university-based family-counseling teaching clinic that serves the families of students referred by the public schools and provides clinical instruction in marriage and family counseling for both master’s- and doctoral-level students. A licensed professional counselor in Virginia and a national certified counselor, she continues to work with at-risk youth and their parents through a grant-based prevention program in both group and family counseling settings. In addition, Dr. Benoit volunteers at a local transitional home for homeless women and their children, providing parent education classes.
