Dr. Parks-Savage has been a counselor educator since 1999, supported by more than 25 years of combined experience as a psychiatric nurse and mental health counselor. In her clinical practice, she works with a diverse clinical and cultural population, ranging from students adjusting to college to adult survivors of childhood sexual trauma. She is a licensed professional counselor, Approved Clinical Supervisor, and registered nurse. Dr. Parks-Savage is president of the Virginia Association for Counselor Education and Supervision. She consults with programs and organizations on topics related to teamwork, professional communication, conflict resolution, and program development/effectiveness. She has been selected to present at international, national, regional, and local counseling and medical education conferences and publishes in professional journals and textbooks on a regular basis. Dr. Parks-Savage is a contributing faculty member in the Counselor Education and Supervision program.
