New Graduates Registration

Invitations to register for summer commencement will be sent on a weekly basis via e-mail to new graduates whose degrees are conferred by June 13, 2018. Please send an e-mail to graduation@mail.waldenu.edu if you have completed your classes but have not yet received a degree conferral e-mail.

Please note: There is a one-time fee of $250 to be paid online with a credit card when you register.

There are a number of transportation options to get to the downtown area. Read more about the variety of options.

Walden has arranged for discounted transportation from the Minneapolis-St.Paul International Airport (MSP) to the graduate hotels through Super Shuttle. Book your round-trip transfers here. If you prefer to book by phone, you can call 1-800-258-3826 and use the booking code UHYNT. Please note if calling, a $3 booking fee will be charged.


Walden has secured room blocks at a number of downtown Minneapolis hotels. Learn more about the discounted hotels, amenities, and pricing. When you stay at one of the Walden host hotels, you have an opportunity to fully immerse yourself in the commencement weekend and the Walden community.

Book your room reservations by Thursday, July 5, 2018, through the housing website. Please do not call the hotel directly to make your reservations. If you have questions, contact us at waldenhousing@conferencedirect.com. Availability is limited, and rooms are available on a first-come, first-served basis. If the room block fills before Thursday, July 5, the hotel reserves the right to increase room rates.

Please be aware that many hotels have policies regarding the use of debit cards. Should you choose to use your debit card, funds utilized for the room, tax, incidentals, and deposits will be withheld and deducted from your checking account balance. Contact the hotel directly for more details.


Graduates attending commencement must wear regalia to participate in the ceremony. To place your regalia order, visit the Jostens website or call 1-800-854-7464 to speak with a Jostens representative. The deadline to place your order online for home delivery is Thursday, June 21, 2018. The deadline to place your order via phone for on-site pick up at the Minneapolis Convention Center is Sunday, July 1. When ordering your regalia, remember the following:

  • You will need to order a mortarboard cap, tassel, gown, and hood. Doctoral graduates may wear premium regalia or a tam instead. Jostens has a list of Walden’s hood colors by degree program.
  • U.S. orders will be shipped directly to your home if ordered online by Thursday, June 21. International orders will be delivered to the Minneapolis Convention Center for pickup on Friday, July 27 or Saturday, July 28, 2018.
  • Once you have placed your order, make sure you receive a confirmation number or notice from Jostens.
  • When your package arrives, make sure your order is complete and that all items fit properly. If you have questions when it arrives, call Jostens directly at 1-800-854-7464.

A limited supply of regalia will be available for purchase at the Minneapolis Convention Center. Please order online or by phone if at all possible.
