Sociological approach to issues associated with health and social services, especially in minority communities
Dr. Gordon joined Walden in 1992 and has 30 years of traditional teaching experience in the disciplines of sociology and other social sciences. She has held positions at The City University of New York, University of Oregon, Tufts University, and Mt. Holyoke College. She incorporates theory as a practical approach to developing critical perspectives and problem-solving skills associated with a scholar-practitioner’s orientation. Her approach to scholarship is comparative and global. She has mentored doctoral students from many different countries, which has provided additional opportunities to explore cultural diversity and other social systems.
